Born in 1954 in Hamburg, Germany, Sacinandana Swami knew he was on a spiritual quest even in his early childhood. At a young age, he began searching for answers anywhere they could be found—from the esoteric teachings of the old world spiritual traditions to the modern theories of psychology and parapsychology. The fragments of knowledge from this quest came together in 1971, when his spiritual journey culminated in discovering the teachings of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

Becoming a spiritual teacher in the Vedic tradition of ancient India, Sacinandana Swami has been traveling throughout Europe for forty years, helping people experience spirituality at retreats, seminars and kirtan events.

All the while, he remained focused on his own spiritual practices, especially taking time to visit India’s sacred pilgrimage sites to seek personal inspiration as well as to conduct spiritual retreats for the benefit of others. His pilgrimages have taken him all over the subcontinent—from Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Mount Kailash in the Himalayas to the sacred temples of Sri Rangam, Melkote, Tirupati, and Ahovalam in South India. He is particularly partial to the sacred land of Vrindavan, birthplace of Lord Krishna, where he holds a highly acclaimed yearly retreat.

Sacinandana Swami focuses on mantra meditation, kirtan and the Vedic Way—a path of spiritual awakening aimed at the whole person.
